Eco-friendly is all the rage these days. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to sort the stylish from the substandard – and that’s where Tactile Interiors can help. Our selection of eco-friendly home accessories has been carefully chosen to bring contemporary style to your home.
Why buy eco-friendly?
We all know the mantra “reduce, reuse, recycle” – now it’s time to apply it at home. Many of our products are made from old bits and pieces that were destined for landfill. Some are produced from recycled materials (like glass, paper, and even milk containers), and many are biodegradable. If reducing waste wasn’t enough of an incentive, it’s also been shown that many eco-friendly products are better for our health. For example, did you know that burning traditional paraffin candles can damage your health in the long term?
Why buy British?
Wherever possible, our products have been sourced in the UK (what’s the point reducing our own carbon footprint when our shopping has travelled from Kenya?). But it isn’t just about reducing consumer miles. Supporting our own artists and producers is just as important. Where we’ve sourced products from overseas, we make sure that their values and processes are ethical and environmentally friendly. You’ll find more information on each product page.
About Me
My name is Jane Papa and I founded Tactile Interiors in 2007. An Interior Designer by training, I’ve been renovating homes for some years. During my studies at the Interior Design School in London, I decided to focus on eco-friendly ways of decorating the home. With all the recent talk about reducing emissions, shopping locally, and recycling our waste, I felt that the only way forward for interiors was with a conscience. When I started to research, I discovered that there are many UK producers working on the same principle – and I wanted to bring them to a wider audience. So Tactile Interiors was born. I have chosen my favourites from a wide range of eco-friendly and recycled products. Wherever possible, I’ve chosen British designers and producers, supporting our local economy. I hope you’ll love the products – because I don’t believe that being environmentally friendly means giving up on a stylish home!
